Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the service:

• Account information: email address, display name, and optionally a profile picture — provided when you sign in via your chosen sign-in provider. We never receive or store your password.
• Activity data: RSVPs to events, league memberships, team rosters, and content you create (event titles, descriptions, comments, uploaded photos).
• Locale preference: the language you choose (Japanese or English).
• Technical data: IP addresses (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), session cookies required for sign-in, and standard server request logs.

We do not collect payment information, location data, or device contacts.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To display your profile and activity to other service users.
• To send service notifications (e.g., event updates) if you opt in.
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties outside the service providers described below.

Third-Party Service Providers

Futcal uses third-party service providers for:

• Cloud hosting and database storage to run the application and store your account and content.
• Sign-in services to let you authenticate with your existing accounts (you'll see which providers are available when you choose to sign in).
• Translation services to render content in your preferred language. Translation requests may include public content you post (e.g., event descriptions); they do not include your email address, display name, or other personal identifiers.

These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and are bound by contractual obligations to protect it. We don't sell or share your personal information with anyone outside this scope.

Cookies

We use session cookies that are essential for sign-in to work. They expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. Standard server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

Your Rights

• Access: sign in and view your profile to see the information we hold about you.
• Correction: edit your display name and profile picture directly from your profile settings.
• Deletion: contact us at support@futcal.com to request account deletion. We will remove your personal data within 30 days. Note that content you have posted that is visible to other users (e.g., event descriptions, comments) may be anonymised rather than deleted.
• Portability: contact us to request an export of your account data.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you may also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The service is intended for users aged 13 and over (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from younger users. If you believe a child under this age has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
